1. Introduction
This manual describes the installation, programming and operation of the Samsung SVM-800 Voice Mail System. It is intended to be read by people installing, maintaining or programming the SVM-800.

2. System Description
The DCS SVM-800 is a Voice Mailing System which integrates currently with the DCS Compact II and DCS-VIP telephone systems*. The system has capacity for up to 8 digital extension ports.

2.1 Functions
System functions include:
• Audiotext – an automatic voice information service. Simple repetitive messages can be recorded and announced to callers in accordance with
the caller’s selection. Messages can also be left in dedicated Audiotext mailboxes at each Audiotext menu.
• Automated Attendant – a function that automatically routes callers to departments, individual extensions, or the Operator when callers respond
to recorded voice prompts by dialling valid digits.
• Voice Messaging – records messages for absent users for playback at a later time.
• Voice Mailing – recorded messages can be copied and forwarded, or transferred to other users with or without additional comments appended.
• Conversation Recording – telephone conversations can be recorded automatically on answer, or by pressing a preprogrammed key.

2.2 Voice Mail System Features
2.2.1 System Features
2.2.1.1 System Greetings
There are a number of system greetings which can be programmed for incoming callers to the VMS. The greeting messages can vary with working hours (using the system’s programmable night and holiday modes). Messages can be modified or deleted as required.
2.2.1.2 Bulletin Function
The system administrator can send bulletin messages to all system users. Users will hear these bulletins whenever they enter their mailboxes.
2.2.1.3 Help
The system users and callers are provided with voice prompts to navigate through the system.
