Olympus Digital Microscope Camera User Guide PDF Manual
This document describes use of the cameras attached to the microscopes, not the microscopes themselves. For microscope instructions, see ACHS-114 Low Magnification Microscope or for High Magnification Microscopes, see the ACHS-112 document. For complete, detailed instructions on use of either microscope, ask for a copy of the manual.
Capturing an Image
Before attempting to capture an image using normal light, adjust the microscope to get the best quality image you can in the oculars. For florescent images, the long manual exposures required usually make on-screen adjustment necessary. Capture digital photos by importing images into either Adobe Photoshop or Image Pro Plus. Save files on your own CD-R, CD-RW, Zip disks or on the Meduser server (if you have a Meduser account.) Both microscope computers have CD burners.
You may temporarily save files on the computer’s “User Temp” drive but those files are subject to deletion at any time after you leave the computer! If you do not follow these instructions, you may create unnecessarily large files likely to fill your disks and choke your PowerPoint presentation. If you plan to quantify your image, want to add a scale to it, or need to remove odd color shifts, see the sections that follow these basic capture instructions.
