First Lenovo Netbook with NVIDIA Ion PDF Document

The revolution began: the first ion-based netbook appeared, it comes from Lenovo and honesty has pretty sweet specs. Make sure you do not miss all the juicy details and keep reading. The Ion is built around the platform from nVidia, a full-sized keyboard, it is said that a full 1080p video playback, weighs slightly less than 3 pounds, features a 1280 x 800 LED-backlit panel, a size of 12 , 1 inch and starts at around 449 USD. He has options such as Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, three USB 2.0 jacks, ExpressCard slot, VGA and HDMI connectivity, a 4-in-1 card reader. As for the storage size, there is a series of 160, 225 and 320 HDD options, plus an optional 6-cell battery. More mundane features include the usual 1.6GHz Atom CPU and 1 GB DDR2 memory.

As Dion Weisler, Vice President, Business Operations, Idea Product Group, Lenovo, said: “We have heard from consumers loud and clear on the need for affordable and highly portable computer, and we have responded by introducing our third netbook with a completely new form factor, which mini-computers more usable and redefining the value of
the current market. [...] We are pioneering new areas in the developing netbook arena by being the first vendor to provide customers high quality video and entertainment options in a netbook with optional NVIDIA graphics ION. “

Rene Haas, general manager, Notebook GPUs, NVIDIA had a few words to add, “ION NVIDIA graphics help deliver the same features found in premium PCs at lower prices and new form factors. [...] With improved graphics, the Lenovo IdeaPad S12 netbook is perfect for watching movies, playing popular games such as Spore, flipping through vacation
photos or improvement of family videos. “
