Installation
There are two installers provided depending on the supported printers. Instructions for TM series are described below. Procedures are the same for other products. ADT***E.EXE: EPSON TM Series Printer Installer ABE***E.EXE: EPSON BA/EU Series Printer Installer The installer installs files for the printer driver, StatusAPI, USB driver, and other necessary files. The installation method will differ depending on the interface connected to the printer. Follow the instructions below to install it. It is possible to do a silent installation that can install the same settings that have been installed without a GUI. See “5. Silent Installation.”

Installation when RS-232C or Parallel Port is used
Execute installation following the instructions in “3.4. Installation.” Select necessary StatusAPI and printer driver from [Select Module] displayed during the installation and a port to be used from [Detail Setting] for the printer driver. If a parallel port is used with Windows 2000 or Windows XP, select ESD_LPTx.. If ESD_LPTx is nit displayed, select Installation when USB is used When using a USB interface board with Windows 98SE, Windows 2000 or Windows XP, install a USB device driver following the instructions below.

Before connecting a TM printer to a PC, execute an installer such as ADT206E.EXE to do necessary installation following the instructions in “3.4. Installation.” Select [USB Driver] and necessary Status API and printer driver from [Select Module] displayed during the installation. A folder, C:EPSON Advanced Printer DriverUSB is created in which a USB driver is created. After installing, restart the computer. Install the USB driver following the instructions in “6. USB Device Driver Installation.” Connect the printer driver to a USB port following the instructions in “6.4. Port Setting.” Installation When Ethernet is Used With Ethernet, printing or obtaining status for a TM printer is possible only through LPR. Execute the installation following the instructions below.
Execute an installer such as ADT206E.EXE to do necessary installation following the instructions in “3.4. Installation.”
1. Select the necessary Status API and printer driver from [Select Module] displayed during the installation. Follow the instructions in the next section for the OS you are using. Windows 95/98 EpsonNet Direct Print must be installed. It is installed by executing the setup.exe in the Disk1 folder created by executing the Endp20ae.exe. Restart the computer after the installation. Open the property for the printer driver connected to the Ethernet interface board and click [Detail], [Port Addition (T)].

Notes on Silent Installation
If the OS or language is different between the computers from which and to which the file is copied, you cannot execute the silent installation.
If you correct the setup.ini without installation, execute the MakeInstIni.exe in the Setup folder.

After correcting the setup.ini by executing the MakeInstIni

corrected setup.ini.
When the SilentInst is started without –i option, a wizard appears and the installation starts after the setup.Ini is created. The silent installation with a USB does not execute the USB driver installation and connection to a USB port. After the silent installation, execute the installation for the USB device driver and port setting following “6. USB Device Driver Installation” and “6.4. Port Setting”. The silent installation with an Ethernet does not execute [EpsonNet Direct Print] or [Microsoft TCP/IP Printing] installation. See “3.3. Installation when Ethernet is Used”. After the silent installation, execute uninstallation following “4. Uninstallation”. If you prevent a dialog indication that shows an installation process or a dialog that confirms OS restarting, correct the part of the setup.ini file shown below.
