VG-D70 Vertical / Battery Grip for the Nikon D70 PDF Installation Manual Guide

The VG-D70 is an aftermarket grip for the Nikon D70 digital SLR camera. The VG-D70 :
• provides a means of holding the camera in a vertical orientation without changing the orientation of the hand,
• allows for a second battery, essentially doubling the number of shots on a charge,
• adds a second shutter release button, used in portrait orientation.
• provides additional length to the camera body when held horizontally (landscape), particularly useful with larger hands,
• increases the mass of the camera, helping to damp handheld movement,
• provides a standard connector for use with remote release cables, stereo camera connections, and other remote control equipment,
• provides an alternate connection for external power, using an industry standard connector,
• includes a place to store the camera’s battery door,
• retains a tripod mounting thread (metal).

EOS, bytheway, stands or Electro Optical System. It assumed that the user has a basic understanding of lens focal length, lens apertures, focusing, shutter speeds, exposure, film type and speeds, as well as SLR cameras and photography in general. Nikon COOLPIX 4300 Panoramic Optic Setup Instruction Manual

Aperture- a mechanism behind the camera lens similar to the iris of your eye, opening and closing to adjust the amount of light entering the camera. The aperture opening also determines the Depth of Field of the image. Depth of Field- describes the objects in the image which are in focus, in terms of their distance from the camera. For example, a camera focused at 30m, with a Depth of Field of 8m, will have objects from 26-34m from the camera in focus. Objects closer than 26m or further than 34m will start to become blurry.

Field of View- the vertical Field of View (vFOV) of the 0-360 attachment. The 0-360 has a vFOV of 100+ degrees, meaning it will “see” from 50º+ above the horizon to 50º+ below the horizon. A smaller Aperture opening (higher F-Stop number) allows less light to enter the camera, but yields a higher Depth of Field. With a high F-Stop, the shutter speed needs to be slowed down to allow more light (else a dark photo), but will have more
Depth of Field in focus.
