Samsung Wave 723 Bada OS Smartphone

Samsung just announced a new smartphone powered Bada, S7230E Wave 723. This smartphone features a new 3.2 inch touch screen, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and auto-focus, an FM radio, and dolphin Browser 2.0. Connectivity features include 3G, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, aGPS, and Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR. For storage, Wave 723 has 90MB onboard memory and microSD card slot with support for 16GB cards area.

The Wave 723 is built on open platforms Bada Samsung [SDK 1.1] with auto scaling UI which will allow developers to port applications Bada Wave 723. Samsung has pitched the OS Bada as an open system that is designed to spur development of applications.

The Wave S7230E 723 measures approximately 0.46 x 2.1 x 4.3 inches. It has a metallic back cover and leather flip cover to protect the front screen.

Samsung plans to launch the Wave 723 in September in Germany. It then will be launched in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The phone is expected to sell about 240 Euros [U.S. $ 306], although the final price will be decided by the operator partners. Because of the reluctance of U.S. operators to adopt another operating system smartphone, Samsung has no plans to launch this device in the United States Bada.[via hothardware]
