Asus A6000U Series Notebook Upgrade And Replacement PDF Manual
Asus A6000U Series Notebook is a 2 spindles product, which means there are less options for you to upgrade to. The key upgradeable and replaceable items include the CPU module, main memory module, HDD, ODD, and Wireless LAN module. In order to avoid redundancy, please refer to chapters 3 and 4 of this manual for repeated and reused disassembly and assembly procedures, such as keyboard & heat sink replacement, which is used by several different procedures in this chapter.
Be sure to follow the safety instructions described in Chapter 2 to safeguard the notebook against any potential damages. For any other components which you need to replace not covered in this chapter, please refer to Chapters 3 and 4 for detailed disassembly and assembly and perform necessary procedures accordingly. This chapter includes the following items: • CPU Upgrade • Memory Upgrade • HDD Upgrade • ODD Replacement • WLAN Replacement CPU Upgrade The A6000U Series Notebook comes standard with a Intel® Micro-FCPGA Socket on the motherboard, which means it can support all Intel Micro-FCPGA CPUs up to 2GMHz.
Upgrading CPU 1. Remove battery module (a).Turn over the notebook. (b). Slide the battery latch (No.1) to unlock. 1 (c). Firmly slide the other latch (No.2) to the top and remove the battery. 2 2. Remove CPU cover (a). Remove 2 screws on the Thermal Door, (b). Lift the Thermal Door away. (c).Disconnect the cable on CPU module. (d). Remove the 2 screws aside the CPU fan (e).Lift the CPU FAN module away. (f). Remove the 4 screws upon the CPU module (No.5 ~No.8) (g).Take away the CPU heat sink module gently. Memory Upgrade The A6000U Series Notebook comes standard with one SO-DIMM in SO-DIMM socket. There is another expansion SO-DIMM socket for you to upgrade the total memory up to 1GB with two 512MB SO-DIMM. Upgrading memory 1. Remove battery module. (a).Turn over the notebook.
